DAILY TEMPLE HOURS (10 a.m. – 1 p.m. & 5 p.m. – 7 p.m.)

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

Daily Temple Hours – (10 a.m. to 1 p.m. & 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.)

Based on the guidelines and lockdown requirements by the Provincial Government, we are pleased to inform you that we have revised the opening hours of Hindu Society of Calgary (Hindu Mandir) throughout the week, starting  September 01,2020 from 10:00 am to 01:00 pm and 5:00 pm to 07:00 pm.

We are reviewing the situation very closely and will keep on adhering to the guidelines accordingly in future as well.

However, there are many restrictions we MUST adhere to. Some of these are required by Province of Alberta. They are:

» We all MUST control how many devotees can enter the Mandir at one time. For now that number is 15 in order to maintain social distancing of 2 meters (6 feet). We have marked the distance signs in the Mandir for you to follow.

» The Mandir will be open for Darshan only at this time. This means there will be no satsang, no puja of any kind by pandit ji, no tilak (Tikka), no tying of moli (Raksha Sutra), no chranamrit, no Prasad, no Preeti bhoj, no touching to the idols, no touching to any holy book, no offering of Jal (Water) or milk on shivling. Devotees are to take care of social distancing and hand washing if using the washrooms thus the use of washrooms must be kept at minimum. Please refrain from visiting other parts of the Mandir.

» Every one entering the Mandir MUST wear a mask (or some kind of face covering) and preferably hand gloves – NO MASK – NO ENTRY. If you don’t have the mask, one will be provided to you by the Mandir.

» Temperature screening will be done for all entering the temple building.

» Once inside the mandir, please strictly follow the path marked by the management to keep the order and the social distancing.

» We appreciate your generosity in donation for the mandir to meet the recurring expenses during this time. We encourage you to offer cashless transaction to avoid breach of social distancing and to maintain the safety of everyone involved. You can also donate only via paypal.

» We will provide sanitizers for all devotees to use before going to the altar. You will also be asked to provide your name, phone number and time of your visit so if we have to contact you for any reason; we have the information on hand.

» Last but not least, if you or anyone accompanying have recently visited out of province or you are suffering from fever, tiredness, dry cough, nasal congestion, runny nose, diarrhea or if you have concerns about your own health and safety (particularly seniors and young children), we encourage you not to visit the Mandir at this time.

The COVID-19 has changed many things least for now and the above requirements are the result of the new era we are living in to protect ourselves and others.
WE RECOGNIZE THAT THESE ARE TOUGH REQUIREMENTS; HOWEVER, FOR THE SAFETY OF OUR OWN AND OTHERS, WE MUST ADHERE TO THESE REQUIREMENTS. THE MANAGEMENT IS COMMITTED TO REVIEW THE SITUATION AND ALLOW RELAXATION OF SOME OF THESE REQUIREMENTS AS WE GO FORWARD WITH GRADUAL OPENING OF OUR TEMPLE.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING AND SUPPORT.
